quiet afternoon
The sun is streaming in on this February afternoon. My brother sits before me and is engrossed in a goosebumps book. It is in all cases a perfectly peaceful afternoon, and I wish I could preserve it so that it always remains like this.
our view from the study room. man has Tukwila changed a lot.
Mohamed wanted to time the 1hr he has to read (before he gets to play a game), and I insisted that he not keep track of the time. I am observing him now over the frame of my laptop, and I watch as he slowly loses himself in the story. His most burning question, "What does the camera do?" (the title of the book is "Say Cheese and Die").
Maybe he will look back to this moment as I look to it now fondly. The simplicity of my childhood was in such moments where my entire world hinged on that one burning question, "What happens next?"
