take a walk in paradise

Strange to watch it all unfold from this corner of the world
We have not reached your dying hour
Yet summer’s showers fall heavily on our pavements
Smiles are not strong enough to still the sun’s setting

And you now, where do you find yourself?
I hope somewhere on a field with lavish carpets
Your footsteps sending stardust flying – floating, I hope
Somewhere in a kingdom that knows not the word “loss”
Or ending.

 In Memoriam, Hodan Nalayeh (1976-2019)
