meaning

do you have in you that burning desire to live?

what a time to be alive is what I thought yesterday on my run, breath materializing in the brisk winter air as I caught sight of a bird mid flight and watched it dip low to the water that ran alongside me. it's this, this small detail that may otherwise have gone unnoticed had my eyes been focused elsewhere, and that very small moment just the night before when I saw my 1 month old nephew laugh. that single moment was so gentle and warm, and my heart has felt cold for some time now. 

and it falls on us to set our hearts ablaze every time we feel it start to wane.
